Capoeira
Capoeira is a martial art from 16th century Brazil that was initially developed to allow fighters to face better-armed and even multiple adversaries. Characterized by a constant, back-and-forth rocking movement called the ginga, the art is known for its quick and complex movements and its fluid and dance-like style. The regular practice of capoeira develops the practitioner's agility, balance, coordination, endurance, flexibility, speed, stamina and strength. The discipline has two major styles: the more playful and traditional Angola style and the newer and more martial Regional style. White Space hosts 90 minute-long capoeira classes every Sunday from 10:30 am to 12:00 nn and every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.
